If you're building an S2F/S-2 model or just interested in early carrier-based antisubmarine warfare or the S2F itself, you'll want to buy this monograph and won't be disappointed. It's at the printer now. Steve Ginter should have it on his website soon (http://www.ginterbooks.com/NAVAL/NAVAL.htm).

Looking forward to this one Tommy; The Stoof has never received the treatment it deserves; long overdue.

ReplyDeleteToo late...but thanks for asking...
DeleteTommy, I have just bought your Ginter monograph on the S2 in addition to the follow on edition on S2/E-1 in squadron service. Excellent books that really are just chock full of everything S2 and all the variants. It has gotten me excited to get started on my Kinetic S2F-1 kit. Like you I spent some time around Trackers when I was a kid in the late 50's as my dad was stationed at NAS South Weymouth for several years before being transferred to NAS Olathe. They had a bunch of them there. I remember the day glo orange patches on the nose, tail and wings. I'd love to do one in those markings.
