Could have been worse - the USAF 555th EC-121s had the radio moniker "Tasty Nostril".

Regrettably I'll need to get white decals, to go on the battleship gray overall paint color. Remember, this was 1966 and Navy combat SAR was just getting started and lo-viz, let alone a gun mount that didn't block entry from the rescue hoist when the M-60 was mounted, was not in the cards. I can fabricate a gun mount OK, but need to find 1:72 crew figures (only orange flight suits at the time, so we wore fire retardant treated fatigues) with flight helmets and flak vests. Perhaps I could behead a pilot figure and put it on a grunt? I also need a couple infantry standard M-60s in 1:72 scale.

Any help you or any readers could furnish on paint colors, sourcing decals or alphabets, and sourcing figures and M-60s in 1:72 would be appreciated.

Here's a color shot of IG-69 - her last appearance on a Navy carrier (16 OCT 66 on CVA-11, USS Intrepid): http://raunchyredskins.us/images/Squadronmates/Caple/Caple/IG69%2001%20%20IG66%20Launch%2016%20OCT%2066.JPG

Steve Caple
brownshoesailor@gmail.com
http://raunchyredskins.us/Squadronmates/Steve%20Caple.htm

Brownshoe Silorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07136208200852308555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5848437078181345610.post-50824365188259919862013-04-21T07:30:45.778-07:002013-04-21T07:30:45.778-07:00Beautiful model, but I think I'll stick with t...Beautiful model, but I think I'll stick with the Fujimi kits give the problems with this one.Michael McMurtreynoreply@blogger.com
